Craig Jones – Managing Director

With almost 2 decades of relevant rail experience, avidrail’s Director, Craig Jones is accomplished in the delivery of permanent way works. During this time Craig has gained extensive technical knowledge and built up an enviable network of rail related contacts. Craig is a resourceful and innovative project manager who quickly instils confidence in all clients, stakeholders and peers.

Working with the likes of Network Rail, Babcock, Jarvis Rail and Murphy Group, Craig has developed a broad view of the rail industry and built a strong reputation for providing sound consultancy services and is able to identify key improvements to working practices and procedures in order to maximise efficiency without compromising quality or safety.

Coming from a track engineering  background, Craig has extensive knowledge of track renewals, maintenance and project work as well as an in-depth knowledge and understanding of current standards and processes including all project life-cycle and GRIP Stages.

Having held numerous Senior Track Engineer / Project Management Positions with companies like Babcock, Network Rail & Stobart Rail, Craig continues to regularly support these organisations on a regular basis. Whilst supporting Network Rail, Craig was responsible for the management of a Works Delivery Unit in the North where he managed CRE Permanent Way for all delivered work.

Craig has been involved in many major projects including: Network Rail’s Far North Plain Line Framework, the Gospel Oak to Barking Electrification Track Lowering Scheme as well as delivering track drainage and track alignment works on the Ashford to Canterbury lines. All projects illustrating Craig’s abilities to work in both an OHLE and third rail environment.
